The Virgen de los Milagros or Santa María de la Rábida is a Catholic religious image that is venerated in the Monastery of La Rábida in the city of Palos de la Frontera (Huelva, Spain). It is an image of Gothic style, of the XIII century approximately, made in alabaster. He was an exceptional witness to the historic events of the discovery and evangelization of America. Before her Columbus prayed, the Pinzón also, during their visits to the Franciscan monastery, prostrated themselves before her, among others, Hernán Cortés or Francisco Pizarro. This image is the patroness of both the monastery and the city of Palos de la Frontera, in which various religious and civil events are celebrated in his honour during the month of August, which culminate in the typical Andalusian pilgrimage celebrated in the surroundings of the Rábida place on the last weekend of that month.
