The Virgen del Pilar is our Marian devotion of the Catholic Church, whose image has its main center of worship in the Basilica del Pilar in Zaragoza (Spain). On May 20, 1642, the municipality of Zaragoza proclaimed the Virgen del Pilar the patron saint of the city, a patronage that extended to the entire Kingdom of Aragon in the Aragonese Cortes of 1678.
